About

Sharon John, LCSW, LLC

With over 30 years of experience, I specialize in helping teens and adults navigate anxiety, depression, chronic stress, and life transitions — using approaches that are practical, evidence-based, and tailored to you.

Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed internally — caught in cycles of overthinking, self-doubt, or emotional exhaustion — while continuing to manage daily life on the outside. If that resonates, you're in the right place.

My approach is warm and collaborative. I draw on CBT, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and EMDR, and work eclectically — meaning I tailor the approach to what fits you best. Not every method is right for every person, and we'll find what works.

EMDR Therapy for Anxiety, Stress, and Trauma

I am certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) through EMDRIA — an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess past experiences and reduce the emotional intensity connected to anxiety, stress, and trauma.

Many people find their anxiety or overwhelm is linked to earlier experiences that still feel "stuck." EMDR can be especially helpful if you:

  • Feel triggered by certain situations or emotions

  • Struggle with ongoing anxiety that doesn't fully resolve

  • Notice patterns that feel difficult to change despite insight or previous therapy

EMDR is a structured, collaborative process that allows you to move through difficult experiences at your own pace — without needing to relive them in detail.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation — no commitment, just a conversation to see if we're a good fit. I also provide superbills for clients using out-of-network benefits, which many PPO plans reimburse at 50–80%.
